Our Kickstarter Launches on Tuesday, 8th of April at 8am PDT!
First, an exciting announcement; we're officially launching the Outcasts of Jupiter Kickstarter tomorrow, on Tuesday, 8th of April at 8am PDT. We're absolutely going to need your support to get things off to a good start, so we hope you'll pick up a copy!
Shof, Funlola and I have worked hard to make sure all the Kickstarter rewards we offer are really high quality, and super duper cool. Apart from digital and print versions of the comic, we'll also have available things like handmade pins, T-shirts, posters, art prints, buttons, limited edition statues, a handmade bust, and more.
Shof's Amazing Denarii Sculpt is Finished. Here it is!
One of the rewards we're hoping to offer as part of our impending Kickstarter is a 7 inch statue/figure of Denarii. I teased this in a previous blog post that showed off a smaller, cuter figure. This meant that Shof had to create a really, really cool looking 3D model for us to base the actual print on. How did he do? No words, just have a look...
We're Launching a Kickstarter, and this is the Cover of Our Incredible Comic!
It feels great to finally be able to say that. Shof and I have been working on this for months and months. We've done a ton of research into how to get a really high quality book printed, and put even more work into writing the story, getting the art started and figuring out the inner workings of Kickstarter, fulfillment centers, printers and more.
Naming Things is Really, Really Hard
For a while now we've been referring to the comic we're working on as "Tales from the Jonahverse", a name that's not quite accurate. You see, the title Tales from the Jonahverse is intended as an umbrella name for the different stories, featuring different characters and different genres that take place in the universe we've dreamt up.
Shof's Working on a Super Cute Sculpt of Denarii!
Funlola's been busy sculpting a bust of Sulesh, meanwhile Shof's been busy working on a sculpt of his own. It's a 3D model of Denarii made in Zbrush.
The goal is to have this beauty physically printed (at around 2.5 inches high) by a 3D printer and made into a real thing that folks can get their hands on. Below are images that show Shof's progress with the sculpt, and his struggle to find a pose before eventually settling on one that I think looks pretty cool.
Funlola's Sculpt of Sulesh is Coming Along Nicely
We've been sharing Funlola's progress on the Sulesh bust she's working on in our previous character profile posts for a while now. It's come along quite a bit recently and we thought now would be a great time for an update! As you can see, it's just about done, there are some minor adjustments to the form left, as well as the painting process, and then it's bake time!
